The Rolling Stones

Grand family space adventure

Narrative Synopsis

The eccentric, brilliant Stone family of Luna (including sharp-tongued grandmother Hazel Stone, pilot Roger, and teenage twin electronics prodigies Castor and Pollux) buy an old used spaceship, rebuild the drive, and set off on a freewheeling tramp freighter vacation to Mars and the Asteroid Belt, collecting fuzzy multiplying Martian flatcats along the way.

There is no such thing as an unsolvable problem, provided you have enough copper wire and stubbornness.

Historical & Editorial Context

Published in the UK as Space Family Stone. The proliferating "flatcats" heavily inspired David Gerrold's "The Trouble with Tribbles" in Star Trek.
